Finally my cubism drawing with pastels and charcoal pencil, I m not sure if using color was a good idea - was always tempted to use the bright pastel colors so... I used charcoal, charcoal pencil and black pastel for the monochrome parts. I was not sure which of them was easier...I struggled with sweaty fingers which have made a mess. for colored parts I used pastels colors and white pastel. I couldnt get the transitions without using white. I fixed it with fixing spray and then again added a bit of white on top. I m still not sure I ve got a hang of using pastels. ( + with outlining. )

There's just the one, not yet finished..

I find this hard to do. Its hard for me to convert from color to monochrome and find the tones.. Still here they are. Charcoal and sketching is very important .

Some kindered soul decided to continue the art classes even after the Course era class completed and started a class of FB for 6 weeks. Its just about 200 ppl with about 30-40 active people. It is amazing...It is working so well and it is fun! :)
Moa is making some paintings after watching the tutorials in that class... more to come. I think water color is my medium, I flow smoothly with it, I already see improvments

I loved all the Joseph Cornell work, Just loved it, more than any, may be as much as Andy Goldworthys, His works are not all that complex, they look very simple - like I could do that... but they are HARD. looking at other collections in the forum (and mine) .. I realise his genuis.  I was really inspired so many ideas.. but none of them materialised. and I did this one. This is more craft than art for me, I did something but I didnt feel like I was flying while doing it . Its a so-so piece done for submission. I really thought Id do a great job on this one.. but this is kinda uninspired, sorry.

It was made by cutting out a cardboard box and collaging from a magazne on top of it. and placing some objects which I had lying around in boxes in my house, little pack of cards, little rubics cube.. i think I like miniature stuff.

The box is a future gazer or a time machine.... the inside says that future is a gamble -cards and dice, You have a compass to give direction to the future, the lens to give a better view.  write your own future ( calligraphy pen and ink)  and The butterfly and the plane say fly!  .

Is the shadow made by me, my art?
No fancy name for you, you are just - the straw nest! :-)
Why do I love it, so?
haha! I couldnt stop after doing that, I wanted to play more with the Straw!
Artists Statement
Of all the installation artists I was really inspired by Andy Goldsworthy. His art really touched me and resonated with me, It felt like If was something I would do, if I was really good at art :-)

My work is improptu,  I wanted it to be spontaneous, and appropriate to the time and location, something planned probably wouldnt fit in.  I wanted to go to the location and look at what is available and do what the location called me to do. and here it is.

I went to on walks in Oxfordshire in England today, to a place called white horse, It is a circular walk, we walked a lot but inspiration didnt strike me. Towards the end of the trial we were walking in the walkwal between fields and there was a lot of straw by the roadside and I knew I wanted to make something out of that..

I am going to make my installation art now!!!!!

Are u crazy we are late, we are heading home? ok!? My friends walked away leaving me alone in the evening light with the straw by the roadside! :-)

When I tried to mould it I found it moulded to my wishes easily, surprisingly easily, Oh What joy! I loved it.  I guess I have always wanted to build a nest, I find them very fasinating, the weaver bird nests the tailor bird nests the crows nest all of them. This is what i ended up doing..  The passers-by saw me doing it and must have thought I was weird, I didnt dismantle it, I think childern who pass by later will be thrilled to find a nest by the roadside! I know I would :-) I want people to smile and think some one is crazy to do this but in a good way, like I do when I see clever street art.

I didnt want to stop at one, so I did a quick second one, a fountain? ;-) thats just for fun, a 2 minute thing. i wanted to do lot more, may be plait it and spiral it to make a snail,Snake -CObra, a huge pot nest like andy goldsworthy's? There are a lot of discussions in the forum about what is art, Today I think art is what makes the doer very happy and free when they do it! :-) I could jump with joy playing with straw!! Ah but friends must be grumbling in the car park, so I had to leave..

The nest is made completely of straw, it was made in about 5-10 mins. Location is by the ridge way, Walk way in between fields in England..made by ungloved hand- got pricked a lot - Ouch! It doesnot have any deeper meaning other than I wanted to make it! :-) and it made me very happy playing with it. I got this wonderful idea that If I had some bird feed, I would actually get some tiny birds into the nest¬! sooo cool! :-) I didnt, may be next time. all summer I think I m going to go on treks and make such things in the forests, fields along the walks, I love it, make things out of things discarded things like dried leaves, straw, stones sand - it would be nice if I could make animals , birds or insects interact with them :-) but I m long way away from that.

Didnt think it would come out so cool! Should do another one, Bigger one , taking more time. I especially liked the shawl with big letters making up the pattern. direction of text also making the cheek look curved.  Nice!! :)
